Meet Mrs. Wood:

Hi, my name is Debbie Wood. I am so excited to welcome you to Kindergarten at our school. I have been teaching for over 30 years now and I can honestly say that I still LOVE it!!! Being a Kindergarten teacher is especially rewarding because I get to watch students learn to READ!!! What could be more fun than that! And I consider myself extremely lucky to have Krista Sullivan as my teaching partner. Krista was not only a former kindergartner of mine, but she was also my High School aide for 2 years. We used to joke that someday we might get to teach together and now we do!!!

I look forward to a great year with all of you!

My Family

My husband Pete and I live on Big Chippewa Lake just north of Brandon. We have 3 grown children and are grandparents to three adorable little boys, Kellen, Camden and Lane.

(Okay, so maybe this "Nana" is just a little prejudice!)

We are also joint owners of Pine Ridge Golf Course

and therefore, our summers have changed quite a bit the last few years. This has been a new learning experience for us,

but we've met some really nice people and we're having

a LOT of FUN in this new adventure of ours!

My Favorites

Yikes - I have A LOT of FAVORITES!!!

When it comes to food, I like baked goodies, but I just can’t say “no” to tender BBQ ribs or a good ribeye steak.

I also love to travel and discover new and unique places.

Luckily, my husband Pete shares that passion so we travel

whenever we can get away. We’ve been lucky enough to visit Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Florida, California, Texas,

and we have also traveled both out east and out west.

In my free time, I love to take pontoon rides around the lake

or just put my feet up and read a good book.

But, by far my favorite thing to do is spend time with my friends and family - especially those 3 little grandsons of ours!

And of course, one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES is TEACHING!

I just LOVE to teach and watch my kindergarteners learn to read!
